The School of Medicine (SOM) Leadership Development Program provides an opportunity for a select group of staff to enhance their careers in the School of Medicine, and for the School to expand the pool of well-qualified candidates ready for advancement.

Please note, this is not a basic leadership training course. The SOM Leadership Development Program provides participants with:

  • Structured sessions featuring leaders from the School and campus who share their professional journeys, insights, and perspectives on leadership topics such as communications, decision making, and change management.
  • Self-driven, professional development opportunities including working with a mentor, and participating in a case study project with other cohort members.
  • Networking opportunities with UCSF leaders, program alumni, managers, and peers, fostering connections that support career growth.
